Empowering Women in FPIP: A Wellness Event to Remember
First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) hosted the AFLI-ESH Wellness Fair 2024 on March 15, 2024, at the Oasis Multi-purpose Covered Court, in celebration of International Women’s Month – an event that aimed to shine a spotlight on the women in the manufacturing industry.
Done in collaboration with Gotuaco-Del Rosario Brokers, Inc. and health and insurance provider Etiqa Philippines, FPIP aimed to recognize the contributions and accomplishments of its women locator-employees, as well as to empower them by emphasizing the importance of self-care and overall well-being.
The fair provided a variety of products and services free of charge or at discounted rates – as a way to encourage women to start their journey towards better health. Booths were also set up to provide attendees with valuable information on women’s health issues, such as mental health, eye care, heart health, breast cancer, and skin care.
According to Lebilen Talisayon, company nurse for FPIP and event organizer of the AFLI-ESH Wellness Fair 2024, it was the first time that they organized an event to celebrate International Women’s Month. “We hope to celebrate women in the manufacturing industry, specifically in FPIP. We decided to do a wellness event because we wanted this to serve as a reminder that women can better care for those around them if they take care of themselves.”
“We are grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of the members of our community,” she adds.
Over 300 participants enjoyed a day of self-care, including Irene Dimapilis, who attended the fair with her co-workers.
While the fair primarily focused on women, it was also open to the families of male locator-employees, recognizing the importance of women in their lives.
FPIP is one of the leading and fastest growing ecozones in the Philippines. It is a manufacturing hub-of-choice of 150 world-class locators and employee hub-of-choice for over 70,000 employees. At present, over 50% of its locator-employees are women.
