FPIP has put in place a number of key initiatives to enhance its overall resiliency. These include solar panel installations, development of green and blue space initiatives, construction of perimeter fences using alternative and eco-friendly material, launching of Environment, Safety, and Health (ESH) Awareness campaigns, upgrading its centralized wastewater treatment facility, opening the new Consuelo Park, and implementing the Green Energy Option Project (GEOP), among others.
Taal Eruption
The FPIP Operations Team continues to closely monitor the Taal volcano situation and ensures constant coordination with resources from the national and local government agencies and disaster coordination units. FPIP deployed a full roster of security and emergency staff ready to provide support to and work closely with locators during such emergencies.
COVID-19
FPIP continued to extend support to locators during the ongoing pandemic to ensure operations were kept running, businesses were kept afloat, and workers protected. FPIP placed comprehensive FPIP-locator communications plans, business continuity plans, stringent health and safety protocols, and crisis management briefings.
Constant efforts for mass vaccination and testing are in order for the employees and the FPIP community. Workplaces and common spaces in FPIP are constantly disinfected, and stringent health protocols including proper wearing of face masks, sanitation, and social distancing are always enforced.
Ten thousand COVID-19 vaccine doses were also donated to FPIP’s host communities of Sto. Tomas and Tanauan, which was done in partnership with First Balfour, Inc. and FIRST College. The #KaVax communications campaign rollout increased the overall awareness on the benefits of vaccination. The pandemic response seminars, and locator site inspections made sure workspaces comply with the requirements of the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF). These efforts allowed locator operations to generally stabilize and even surpass pre-pandemic numbers in terms of operational locators, employee attendance, and employee headcount.
